Progress on Celtic Summer

Last night I had a chance to work on Celtic Summer. I found this beautiful antique lavender linen in my stash and I thought the colors would look lovely. Kelli, my daugher loves purple! I was able to work a little bit on the gold until I started to nod off to sleep. This is really enjoyable-can't wait to get more accomplished. The kids and I had a great time just watching my old classic favorite "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" while I relaxed and enjoyed stitching to my hearts content.

What a Wonderful Thanksgiving week! Much to be thankful for ....

There are so many things that I can think of to be thankful for this year. I am so grateful for the Bedford Community for all the hard labor they have done to our house. Our family was in the running for NH's "Extreme Homemakeover" last year because we needed our house to become handicapped accessible. But we did not win. One year later, on Oct. 26, 2008, we brought Craig, my handicapped son, and the rest of the family to our 18 year old house which had its own makeover by the community. And what a job they did! They tore out the carpets, ripped out the toilets, bathroom cabinets, even the vinyl siding and added an addition and garage which has helped our lives immensely!!! Craig has his own room-yeah! And an elevator was installed so he can have access to both floors. He has his own bathroom and I love the new laundry room! It is close to Craig's room which is wonderful since he goes through a lot of clothes. I thank my dear friend Kim Peicker who poured her life over this project. About 100 businesses helped and I can't thank the many laborers enough for all that they have done. Some have traveled great distances to provide material goods for this house. My friend Anne Southwell was the lead landscape choreographer and planted a cherry blossom tree in honor of my mother who passed into heaven last year. I am sure she is enjoying her new life. I miss her very dearly. I thank the Lord for all the people whom I have met through this house project. I could go on and on. As football season winds to a close, I thank God there were no injuries. Erik had a good year playing for the Bedford Bulldogs in his sophmore year. Tyler finished his last football year as a senior and got himself a letter jacket! Kelli's cheerleading team, the Mitey Mites won first place at the State competition at UNH and on November 29, 2008 they won the New England Regional competition in Providence Rhode Island!!! Yeah! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Street, Aunt Cyndi, Uncle Todd, Aunt Kristen, Uncle Lewis, and all of the kids. I'll never forget, Grandma and Grandpa Street driving all the way from Maine to see Kelli's season Premiere Competition in October. Grandma gave her a purple rose!
I thank God that we were able to spend time with Grandpa Kaperick when he flew over from Washington State. He was amazed at all the work on the house. And it was fun to have him see the kids' activites. What a year it has been-abounding in joy!

TYLER'S DRAWING TAKES HIGH HONOR!!!!!!!

Today, Kelli,Daddy and I headed to West High School where Tyler was patiently waiting for us to come to his Art Show. He told us he had about 6 art pieces hanging up. When I saw the prisma color drawing of "Flooding", I was amazed. Blue is my favorite color and how Tyler mixes the blue hues so that they blend well is amazing to me. The detail! Tyler's art teacher welcomed everyone and announced that there are some winners. He called name after name and then he said, "Tyler Street!" Oh my, how exciting! My little boy-a winner?! After several students received their awards, it was announced that the cash prize winner would have their art piece matted and framed and hang on the wall of West High School forever and ever! Mr. Syzk announced,"And that goes to "Flooding" by Tyler Street!" What I couldn't believe it! I was about to cry. The Lord is so good. Mr. Syzk explained to Tyler,"That is the highest honor." My body was beaming from head to foot. How wonderful! His art was chosen for the highest honor! Tyler will receive a cash prize and this definitely will be wonderful for his portfolio. We were so happy to see his friends celebrate with him. It was so neat to see his friends crowd around his artwork and to know his God given talent has touched the lives of others. There were so many wonderful artworks from students. What a wonderful day. We celebrated by going to Wendy's and bringing home the goodies home. I was so happy to see Sima and Annika there! One blessed day.

A Day of Crochet!

What a busy weekend! We took the kids to Applebees for dinner Friday night and I enjoyed a nice juicy steak. On Saturday, it was Erik and Mom time together. We shopped for clothes and had lunch together at the food court. Erik loves the chinese food. On Sunday. our small Bible study group got together and we watched the Patriots win their way to the Superbowl! Yippee! No school for today so Jeffrey got up and he crocheted a granny square. He looked up granny squares on the internet-I guess he had to get it perfect. I wonder what he will do with it. He crocheted a bunny for his teacher who just had a baby. Craig came home today from Cedarcrest so we are all happy he's back. I am thankful for all the loving people who help take care him. I hope to get some stitching in tonight but sometimes when night comes- I am zonked out and fall asleep. Well, at least last Friday, I got my floss for Blessed Day organized. I went to A.C. Moore's and loved the new new metallic floss colors and the new variegated DMC floss. Tyler is working on his art project for school. So artistic! I tell Tyler that whenever I am doing my cross-stitch, "I'm doing my artwork Tyler." It makes him laugh.

Happy Snowy January!

Today was a beautiful sky blue winter wonderland day. At work, I felt the warm sun on my legs as I supervised the kids on the playground. They love the snow! We have had quite an eventful weekend. On Friday, Jeffrey and Kelli had fun creating geometric shapes out of spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. Kelli made some really cool polygons and Jeffrey made a cool roller coaster model. Jeffrey's friend, Spencer, came over on Saturday. As always, they always have fun together and Jeffrey enjoys entertaining. Another school closing on Monday due to snow. And on January 14, Mike turned 46! Jeffrey has been teaching a friend and her daughter how to crochet. He even had orders from school! Some kids would order a crocheted baby chick or a dragon and he crocheted a beautiful blue and white hat for a Christmas gift exchange. I have been working on my first big challenging cross stitch project on 28-count antique white glittery linen. The material beautifully glistens in the light. I have a long ways to go! it is called "Blessed Day" and it is a picture of an angel and Baby Jesus.
